No commentsShow and hide text in a form field using onclick and onblur
A great way to reduce the need for a field heading/title is to include the informative text within the text field. This is most commonly used in search fields, where there’s often no further available room to include a heading alongside or above. Read more
No commentsThe Birth Team Website
We were recommended to The Birth Team by a previous work colleague. Sarah, co-creator of The Birth Team, was a little disillusioned with web designers after a few bad experiences. Dare to Think were there to reassure her that we’re always here to help and will listen and explain in non-techy words exactly what’s to be done with the site. The Birth Team required a website that was simple, clear, informative, enticing and easy to maintain with an added News section. The result is something we’re all proud of and more importantly is proving to be an ongoing success for their business.
The Knowledge Antenatal Website
So pleased was Sarah, co-creator of The Birth Team, with their new site we’d developed that we were then asked to replicate the style of that site for The Knowledge Antenatal website that was in a tired state and need of some love and attention. Another happy customer and one that we continue to work with on maintaining their sites as well as a monthly Google Adwords campaign.
VertuVin Wine Producers web update
Continuing our relationship with VertuVin Wine Producers, we’ve been busy working with Stephen on updating their website to freshen up the site and add further functionality. The main focus was on the wines section which now includes technical descriptions downloads, clear labelling of the wines and regions as well as fancy pop-ups of the wine bottles.
All useful information when selling their services to producers, wine buyers, importers and distributors. We’re continuing to work with VertuVin on a regular basis to help them create their perfect business.
Here’s what they had to say “We have just completed the next version of our B2B website, working very closely with Alan from Dare to Think. At the beginning I thought this was going to be a relatively straightforward exercise, but it has taken many different and unexpected twists and turns and I have to thank Dare to Think for their never-ending patience and excellent customer service. Thanks guys – you actually made this quite a pleasurable experience!” Stephen Cronk – Managing Director

No commentsWord and Character Counter
There’s quite a few occasions where a character and word counter comes in handy. Here at Dare to Think we use it for counting the length of website titles and descriptions when doing our SEO work. For example, your website title should ideally be 64 characters as Google truncates at 66 characters or the last full word. Your website description should ideally be no longer than 160 characters and consist of 24 to 26 words. We’ve used this method a number of times and it seems to be spot on. Read more
